Sara Lynn Abbott (b. Knoxville, TN) is an artist based in Nashville, TN. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Studio Art through the low-residency program at the Maryland Institute College of Art. After earning her BA in Studio Art from Rhodes College, she settled in Nashville to continue to develop her practice.
Her practice investigates time, identity, and perception, using sculpture and installation to reflect on personal and cultural expectations. She was awarded the Sally Grispan Award for Artistic Achievement for her piece Latrine Interlude in the 2019 Senior Thesis Exhibition at Rhodes. Her work Navigating the Nighttime Assembly was acquired by Rhodes College for its permanent collection.
